The Pine of the Year – The Year of the Pine

The first performance for the pine of the year is done, and the recording can be found on a page on the Research Catalogue devoted to documenting the whole year, here. My original idea was to organise events for the pine once a month for a year, with invited artists performing music or dance or poems or whatever they found suitable. And I actually chose a pine of the year that grows in a convenient location for such events. When I thought about it, it seemed to require quite a lot of organising and I decided to simplify, to perform myself and to use my old broken blues harp and just breath through it for a start. Perhaps there will be other people performing in the coming months, or then not. At least I will try to keep breathing with and for the pine, to celebrate the pine in that simple manner.
