Spending a week in Stockholm without visiting the pine by Essingeleden, without visiting any pine or tree at all, feels odd. The little pine growing on the cliffs of Fredhäll next to Essingeleden motorway became a friend and support because I visited the pine from 16 September 2023 to 20 September 2024 twice a week every time I was in Stockholm. The splitscreen video compiled of these visits is available online on the RC platform (scroll down the page). I decided to avoid starting a new project immediately and wait till the beginning of next year to really consider what I should do. But I did not expect this strange feeling of emptiness when having no ‘local friend’ to visit.
