The exhibition “Revisiting the Pine and other video works” in the Telegraph Gallery on Harakka Island from 24 May to 5th June is divided in two parts, quite literally, by a kind of curtain made from old flyers to an exhibition held in that same space in 2007. In the space to the left there are works related to the pine on Harakka island, the one that I revisited again this spring (see image above) and performed with during the year of the dog 2006-2007. The first revisit took place already in February 2018, and the original time-lapse videos, the year and the day and night from 2006-2007, are inserted in that 16 minute real-time session sitting in the tree, as seen here below. In the space to the right, on the other side of the curtain, there is a collection of videos performed with pine trees on Örö Island in 2020 and 2021, listed in alphabetical order for “screening on demand”. In actual practice the whole selection is running in a loop, for hours, it seems.
